BUILD A VILLAGE WHEREVER YOU WANT
In most multiplayer sandbox games, you'll find building limited to certain areas or designated places. We wanted to go back to the original meaning of the term 'sandbox', and let you decide where you want to build.
Start or join a samurai clan and leave your mark in a highly persistent open world with almost no boundaries. Your clan can build its own village from the ground up including player housing, village walls, farming and livestock.
HACK & SLASH STYLE ACTION COMBAT
Tired of tab target based combat, spamming skills and rotations? In SamuTale you'll find neither of these, as we implemented a hack & slash style action combat system were you have to aim your sword or bow to hit your target.
With this feature you'll need to dodge or block your opponent's attacks making it a skill based fight rather than having the best gear or skill rotation.
CLAN VS CLAN WARFARE
Your village is always in danger as other clans may want to plunder your village or expand their territory. Therefore, clan vs clan warfare is something you'll find quite often in SamuTale.
Your clan must work together to build up a good defense, gather resources to craft armor and weapons, grow food to feed your people, form alliances and rule the lands of Kushiro.
A Variety of Content and High Flexibility
SamuTale is a open world sandbox MMORPG with a lot of features that should be part of any MMORPG checklist: village building, classless character system, player housing, survival, farming & livestock, full-loot PVP, realtime Tree and Plant growing, crafting and more.
Real-time Changing of the Environment
The developer is working on the first prototype of realtime tree/plant growing (which will also be used for farming). Every interactable tree and plant in SamuTale will have it's own grow cycle. So in other words, you can gather herbs, fruits, cut down trees, but also replant them anywhere you like and watch them grow realtime.
Point-to-click movement with classic target based combat. It offers a hack n slash style combat where player don't have to target a NPC or player before you can attack.
What is the release date of SamuTale?
The first alpha version will come out Q2 of 2016.
How can I register for alpha?
You can register for alpha by clicking here.
Will SamuTale be pay-to-win?
No, the micro-transactions will only be used for cosmetic items/upgrades.
How long have you been working on SamuTale?
We started development back in 2013, but we had several breaks in between.
What is the size of your team?
We have one person working full-time and several freelancers/volunteers.
Can I join your team?
You could e-mail us so we can have a talk.
What platforms will SamuTale support?
Our focus lies on PC/Mac, but we are also planning to have a web based version.
we now have horses in SamuTale and they are not just for show because you can actually ride them.
At the moment we have 3 different breeds with there own unique attributes but this will probably be random in the future.
In SamuTale we want to give mounts some unique mechanics. If you look at most other MMO's you will see that you carry around your mount as an item in your inventory. We think this is kind of stupid and we decided to let mounts be persistant objects in the world. This means that you can't carry them around in your inventory, and when you logout they will still be in the game.
It's even possible your mount gets killed or stolen, so it's up to you to protect your mount from others and let it rest in a safe place (like your clan village).
One of the most important aspects of the game!
Clans are the foundation of your village and you must work together to create something triving. Clans are able to claim pieces of land so you have more protection for the stuff you build.
At the moment we finished the basic elements for clan management which is clan creation, clan roster and clan ranks/permissions. The clan leader can decide what the members can do and what not by altering rank permissions.
We have seen many sandbox games where you just have to trust a new member when you invite them to not steal everything you have. This is something you can avoid with rank permissions. If you for example invite a new guy to your clan, he starts out with the lowest rank (Recruit). Being a Recruit means he can't destroy stuff, open/close gates or take items from your chests. After a while you may think he can be trusted so you promote him so he can open/close gates by himself. It's up to you what each rank can do and what not.
