World of Warcraft November Subscription Plan

Fair or not, Blizzard decided to increase the subscription rates for World of Warcraft UK players. Seems like the Warlords of Draenor expansion will bring us new content, a visual overhaul, and a higher subscription plan.

“We regularly look at our pricing around the world and from time to time we make changes in light of local and regional market conditions. As such, we want to give everyone a heads-up that we will shortly be adjusting the pound sterling subscription price of World of Warcraft.”

From November 13, same day with Warlords of Draenor release date, the pricing list will go like this: 30 Days - £9.99 (from £8.99), 90 Days - £28.17 (from £25.17), and 180 Days - £52.14 (from £46.16). For prepaid cards the suggested retail price will be £20.99.

In order to keep their loyal fans happy Blizzard said that players who have an active recurring subscription (the auto-payment option) at the time of the change, will be able to keep the old price for two years. If you change the payment method after that, you will have to deal with the new pricing list.

Blizzard is risking way too much after Activision’s latest financial report that shows a subscriber drop of 800.000, but I guess they have a lot of faith in the upcoming expansion. If you want to learn more about the game, take a look at our World of Warcraft HUB.
