The organizers of the World eSports Championship Games (WECG): Aegis Gaming Networks (AGN) and Global Mobile Game Confederation (GMGC) held a Global eSports Industry Summit during Chinajoy 2014, announcing the additional game titles for the upcoming WECG 2014. Apart from the previous two games - StarCraft 2 and Hearthstone - three PC games Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Ultra Street Fighter IV and two mobile game, Crisis Action and Dance Everyday, were added to this tournament.

After WCG ceasing to exist in 2014, WECG was quickly being regarded as the new and updated version of it. WECG was established this year to build a healthy ecosystem and culture for the best gamers around the world to gather from different cities to share the excitement and fun of competitive gaming tournaments. The first WECG is set to take place in early December. The candidate cities are five Chinese cities: ChenDu, Chongqing, Huaxi Village, Kunshan and Shanghai, and the final host city will be released soon. Please stay tuned!
