Kynvas' Journal Day 4 in Neverwinter Open Beta
Day 4 Year 1479 DR
You would think heavily armed men couldn't get overrun by bandits. Of all the odd jobs I had to take, I picked one that took me into some kind of archive. The place was filled with Bandits, undead, and musty old tomes, business as usual for me.
My luck goes horribly wrong. I manage to make it to where the crown is kept--after I left a trail of corpses in my path, only to see the two Bandits grab the crown and bounce through some kind of mystical portal. Leaving me to deal with an armored skeleton bent on removing my tail and then some.
What a wonderful fun time I'm having. So having finally dispatched the guardian I get to the podium. Of course there is nothing there. I usually arrive far too late anyway. Shinae says I am big and slow. I hit hard but don't ask me to hurry. I like to say I am smart like rock and swift like tree. Easily distracted too. As I turned to look at the hall I found it to be very beautiful. Architecture that shows art inside functionality.
Nobody appreciates the grandure put into stone buildings. Some can even stand up to the testament of time. Perhaps this place will still be standing when all it's tomes and artifacts have long since rotted away. When the iron rusts and the statues crumble, the chandeliers will fall and the ceiling will cave in at some point; but perhaps the walls will still stand. I reported to Sergeant Knox about the Crown being stolen. He had some leads thankfully. For a bit more coin I can hunt down the suspected theives.
The things I do for money. Shinae caught up with me after that. She's a wonderful friend. Even if she hates the sunlight. I tried coaxing her out a time or two. But once again she threatened to shock my tail. That fiesty Sorceress knows exactly how to get me to mind. She asked to join me for the bounty job. Raising my shield so she could have a permanent shadow as we made our way to Blacklake.
Having a good friend by my side is always a plus. Having smuggled her out of Luskan was risky on my part, but still a good idea, even if we were shipwrecked. We both are pretty adaptable and we can find our way around just fine. Despite her extreme hatred for daylight she seems to be exploring more and more. She definitely lets you know that she is number one, and a female drow. You do not question her. Ever.
She managed to find her familier. Her cat. Which I can't remember his name. If that cat survived then maybe my wolf did too. Well, I know my wolf did. I just have to find him. Ayel is such a good wolf. He's always so happy to see me. And he never lets anything get him down. Hard to imagine the fella being able to rip people apart.
Well we are about ready. Shinae stopped for supplies so we won't be trounced by whatever awaits us in Blacklake. Another day, another gold.
