PAX East 2014: The MMO Wish List
By Fury116 on 0 0
This year’s PAX East just kicked off in Boston today and you may have noticed that several major MMOs shown in last year’s PAX East will remain in the center of the spolight this year. Hearthstone, debuted in PAX East 2013, will provide hands-on for its iPad version, and so will Wildstar, Carbine Studios’ upcoming MMORPG. Star Citizen is surely one of the most anticipated one, and this year you can expect to learn more about the dogfight module. There are many new faces in the expo including Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade, The Crew, and Eve: Valkyrie, etc.
World of Warcraft – Warlords of Draenor beta time and new gameplay information
PAX East may not see major announcement of Warlords of Draenor but you can still look forward to hearing more about beta info since the devs will be there to talk to the community and media. Hopefully we will be able to learn more about the new dungeons/raids.
Heroes of the Storm – Beta info and esport stuff
We know Blizzard will reveal new hero at PAX East, and we hope they will talk about when closed/open beta will start. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see what Blizzard’s MOBA has in store to rival LoL and Dota 2 in esport market in the future.
Wildstar – Open beta date and post-launch update info
The game will formally launch in June and before that it will have an open beta. The OBT is scheduled in May but currently there’s no an exact date. Carbine’s future plan for Wildstar is going to be another thing you can keep an eye on.
Eve: Valkyrie – Release date and Oculus VR’s strategy in virtual reality gaming market
Sony is still fighting the next-gen console war and now they are facing toe-to-toe with Oculus VR in the virtual reality gaming realm. What will Oculus VR do to respond to Sony’s move? Will Eve: Valkyrie announce a release date? Or will we see new gameplay features?
Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade – New gameplay details
Behaviour doesn’t have a booth at PAX East but the developers will be there and the lead level designer Steven Lumpkin teased “a package of interesting stuff” will be available at the show for attendees.
The Crew – New feature, new trailer, and hopefully beta schedule
Ubisoft has a powerful PAX East lineup and its racing MMO The Crew will be playable at the booth. A new trailer is going to be released while reveal of new gameplay features can be expected.
Star Citizen – Dogfighting module and beyond
The anticipated dogfighting module will be detailed on the very first day of PAX East and after that you can pray for more exciting things announced by Chris Roberts.
