At Google I/O 2017, Google announced they will be working on a new all-in-one virtual reality headsets with partners HTC and Lenovo. The new device is a standalone gadget that does not require PC, console or smartphone and it’s completely wireless. This headset will be coming in late 2017 for an unspecified price.

This new all-in-one headset will have inside-out position tracking system named WorldSense, and it also supports 6 degrees-of-freedom so users can move freely instead of looking around from a fixed point.

Google, HTC and Lenovo all have their own headset, but all look like typical ones. This new device will definitely expand their product lines. Besides, HTC also says that this will be the first standalone headset to support Google Daydream platform, which means other headsets are coming too in 2017.
