Quake Champions Is Free-to-Play But Has Some Novel Restrictions
To unlock everything permenently, you have to purchase the Champions Pack, and if you don't want to, you can still play the game with paid players on the same maps but you have to earn in-game currency called Favor to unlock the game characters (except the Ranger who's avalable to everyone for free). However, free account can get to use the unlocked characters for a certain period of time and then they will have to earn them back again.
Favor can also be used to buy rune challenges. By beating a challenge you can earn a container similar to Overwatch's loot box to unlock new character and skins.
Bethesda stresses that free players and paid players will compete in an even playing field. There's no other barrier and restriction on free player in terms of currency earning or progression speed. So what do you think of this type of free-to-play model?
