Land of Glory: The WoW Mobile MMO Has PC MMO's Depth in Large Scale Raids
Land of Glory has traditional 5-man instance, and it will have 10-man and 40-man raids in the future (likewise, there will be 10v10, 40v40 battlegrounds). In a recent interview, the game's producer Ye Qian revealed that the game's raid will be similar to PC MMORPGs, and World of Warcraft in particular, where your position and team work are important.
An example is in most normal instances, players are required to take down the boss in 3-5 minutes before it wipes the raid. Another example is the heroic instances will take about 40 minutes to finish — it's completely unlike any other mobile games that are supposed to be played anywhere anytime.
It takes 2 weeks to reach the max level, and that's where the game really starts as players will be focusing on raids. According to Ye Qian, each raid in Land of Glory takes at least 2 months to make, and it's not like most no-brainer mobile MMOs in the market.
People will be curious of what kind of smartphones/tablets can run this game smoothly. Ye said NetEase had planned this game in 2013 and they had predicted iPhone 7 would come out in 2016, which would be powerful enough to run a game like that. It seems that you will need a device with iPhone 7 level of specs to play the game smoothly.
Being a hardcore mobile MMORPG, Land of Glory will not have Energy or similar fatigue system to restrict how much time a player can play each day. There will be no daily quests like many mobile games do.
