Albion Online final beta test started in August and planned to last for 2-3 months. However, the developer Sandbox Interactive announced today that the beta will be extended through Q1 2107. That means the game's final launch is delayed and indeed it will disappoint some fans.

Additionally, there will be an in-beta wipe, which is scheduled for February/March 2017 once the necessary improvements to the game and game world are made. The fact that the game's core gameplay is not yet sufficiently polished caused this delay. Aiming to deliver a long lasting MMORPG to its fans, Sandbox will perform some improvements to the game's PvE, PvP, economy, progression, and world. Players have expressed serious concerns about the delay, arguing that the beta has already dragged on long enough. With no other option, the dev's team will do its best to release the game as soon as possible.

Albion Online won't be a free-to-play MMORPG, and it won't have an open beta.
