[Update] Dark and Light: Buy-to-Play Business Model Confirmed
Yesterday, we reported that Dark and Light will use P2P business mode (subscription) which contradicts with their previous B2P (one-time purchase) statement. In response, the official team post an important notice on their Facebook page, clarifying the game will be Buy to Play.
Yesterday we posted a comment stating that Dark and Light's payment model would be Pay to Play, implying that it would require a recurring subscription fee in order to play.
This statement was made in error; Dark and Light will officially release as a Buy to Play game, meaning you will pay once for the game with no recurring subscription fee.
We apologize for the confusion - more information about Dark and Light's release plans will be released in the near future.
Many players complain about Chinese MMOs' F2P business model isn't making the economy and the game is not fun to play. Of course lots of people don't like Age of Wushu's f2p model very much. Now Snail Games' next MMORPG, one of the most anticipated one, Dark and Light is going to try a new model. According to Snail Games, this upcoming game will use p2p business model for EU/NA servers which could be encouraging for most hardcore players. However, it might block many casual players out at the same time.
The official website will be published at the end of August. Stay tuned for more updates.
