Pokemon Go has a mysterious Pokemon spawning mechanism that many players are trying to crack. No matter what type of algorithm Niantic uses in this game, it has apparently disappointed some players, especially those who aren't living in big cities. A player complained on Reddit that he was just able to capture a few Pokemon a day in his town while he could see Pokemon spawn every 100 meters in Madrid, the capital of Spain.

His Reddit post got unexpected number of responses and it seemed that many people were sharing the same concern. Below are some of the comments.

You should be able to catch Pokemon out in the wild, like in a forest or near a lake. But instead you have to be in a crowded city...

Yeah that part is really disrupting the real life exploration immersion.

I've got a big ol' forest near me, and I manage to get good mobile data almost everywhere. Now I just need a few more Pokémon for me to catch.

It's funny because in the Pokemon GO trailer, it showed a family out in the mountains catching a Charizard... yeah right- nothing spawns out here in the mountains!

I caught a Tauros in a Meijer (like a Target) the other day. I also felt weird.

How do you like Pokemon to spawn, should they spawn equally in cities and rural areas or should they spawn based on their Pokemon type?

Thank
You!
