Pokemon Go Legendary Pokemon Location
"Catch'em all!" is one of the reasons that encourages trainers to play Pokemon Go and speaking of Pokemon collection, legendary Pokemon will definitely be in every trainer's pursuing list. But as you might probably know Pokemon Go only features legendary Pokemon from the original two Pokemon games, at least for now. Those five legendaries include the Legendary Birds - Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres and the Mew Duo; Mew and MewTwo. So here's the question: where to catch those legendary Pokemon?
Speculation 1: Through big events
If you played Niantic's another game Ingress, you know that Niantic used to host big citywide events where different teams were vying for cities control. It's very likely that Niantic will employee the same way for legendary pokemon catching in Pokemon Go. Well, in fact, we can find a hint in Pokemon Go's first trailer where many players gathered in Times Square to fight a Mewtwo. In the end, all players who participated in that battle are rewarded with a Mewtwo.
Speculation 2: get top ranked in team competition
Another possibility would be Niantic host competition between 3 teams as each team has a legendary pokemon as their mascot. There is no ranking system in Pokemon Go yet but it's possible that they'll add it in the future where players topped in the chart will be rewarded with legendary pokemon.
The Bitbag also made some speculations on how players can get the legendary pokemon. One is that we might be able to catch a legendary monthly if Niantic follows suit from the event pattern of other Pokemon titles. However, if not, legendary might just be very rare and the first set of legendaries may be released when Pokemon Sun and Moon launches on Nov 28.
But we believe Niantic won't make legendary pokemon areas-exclusive since it's unfair for other players who are not able to travel to that certain area.
