Legendary Mage Spell Deck
The highlight in this deck is Doomsayer who plays well against minion-oriented decks or swarm decks in Hearthstone. It is well known that with 7 health, he can take some punishment before dying, especially in early game. Although it shouldn’t be included in a deck that built around minions, he could play as a deck clean role in Mage spell decks to make a huge pressure for Warlock, Shaman and Paladin in early stage, hindering them to swarm smoothly and allowing you to cast your big spells on opponent heroes.
Here are some strategies
1 Opponent plays Coin + Faerie Dragon: go Doomsayer
2 Opponent plays Mirror Image + Mana Wyrm: go Doomsayer
3 Warlock minion or Murlock decks: Frost Nova + Doomsayer in 5 mana
4 If Rogue has swarmed the deck: go dual Doomsayer (her Assassinate can wipe one of them)
It features strong card engine and effective AoEs. Generally if you are out of level6, it is worthy for you to have a try. Well, I also attach another deck below which suits for level3 to legendary. After the second change, Pyroblast is up to 10 mana which would hinder you to cast it on your opponent’s face in mid game.
Every coin has two sides. Her weakness is Druid, since he usually picks one or two Healing touch and his massive fatties would force your to drop Ice Block in mid game. So it is a little hard for you to delay the game until you can drop Alexstrasza on the board. Another weakness is Mage minion decks, since you are lack of minions. Your opponents are likely to cast some spells on your face or drop some fatties with charge to nerf your HP.
As talked above, Doomsayer plays an as an important AoE in this deck and Counterspell also prevents you from being casted on spells like Fireball or Pyroblast. I also picked Ethereal Arcanist, Mirror Entity and Vaporize in previous version. But I gave up finally, since it is hard for me to make these combos in mid stages. In my opinion, legendary cards shown above are enough for you, so don’t pick any other minions whose mana is over 3.
Currently, Rogue decks are quite hot in level3-legendary. This deck offers you a high win rate when you are playing against Rogue (actually, I only lose once). In addition, Counterspell plays well against Warlock decks, since he usually drop Soulfire or Power Overwhelming when you are in low HP.
Share my win rate
Rogue: high win rate
Warlock: win rate is lower than vs. Rogue
Alexstrasza OTK Warrior Decks: one win out of three
Priest: didn’t meet
Mage Minion decks: 50% win rate
Paladin: Alexstrasza in 9 mana cost and Bloodmage Thalnos + Frostbolt+ Ice Lance in 10 mana cost.
Shaman: high win rate
