Here's the First Trailer of EA's Frostbite 3 MMO Need for Speed: Edge
Need for Speed: Edge is EA's latest installment on the NFS series and it's an MMO developed by EA's Spearhead Studios, specifically for Korean (or Asian) market. The game's publisher Nexon has just released the first trailer for the Frostbite 3 powered MMO. If you play Need for Speed: Rival, you will see some familiar maps in the trailer.
We got our hands on the demo at G-STAR 2015, which included two battle modes: speed battle and item battle. In speed mode you can gain "energy" by doing acceleration and drift. Once the energy bar is filled up you will get an item that boosts your speed (you can see it as nitro in other NFS games). Item battle is about picking up and using items and buffs on the route. The items, some allow you to call helicopter support to attack opponent's cars while some are road block that can slow down your opponents. Classic NFS modes such as hot pursuit will be added in the future.
What makes the game worth some anticipation is there's not just racing battles but also car tuning and car trading. You can even expect to create your own racing car. You can learn more about the gameplay features of Need for Speed: Edge here.
To sum up, Need for Speed: Edge features the best graphics in the racing MMO genre and offers a lot of classic gameplay elements that have been proven successful in other racing MMOs.
The game will start a 3-day closed beta in South Korea on November 26.
