NCsoft Explains How Blade & Soul Mobile Is an Action Card Game
First and foremost NCsoft doesn't plan to make Blade & Soul an action game like the PC counterpart. The plan is to make the PC version an action-packed MMO that needs some skill to play and the mobile version a casual game that everyone can easily play. Being a card game, Blade & Soul Mobile still has the spirit of action thanks to the implement of "minime", the 3D miniature of the characters in the cards. These mini characters can do many attacks, counter attacks, combos and so on, offering you the shinning skill effects found in the PC version.
You can watch the trailer below to see the concept of card battle.
You may have noticed Blade & Soul Mobile's art style is different to that of the PC version. Bae Jae Hyun explains it's due to the PC version features Kim Hyung Tae's style of art in order to attract more male players. The mobile version, on the other hand, aims at wider audience base including casual gamer and female players.
Blade & Soul Mobile has started closed beta in China on August 17 and may release worldwide in the future.
