5 Things We Want to See In Bethesda’s Card Game The Elder Scrolls: Legends
In the present market, card games are emerging in endlessly. But the real survivors are extremely rare. Until now, the games I can call out the names are only Hearthstone, Heroes Charge and Magic The Gathering. So, if The Elder Scrolls: Legends wants to survive in the market or even compete with Hearthstone, it should have some unique stuffs that can attract most of players. Below are 5 things that I collected from my surroundings. They thought these ideas will help the game stand out from the crowd. What do you think?
1. Many VS Many System
As we know, almost all of card games only provide 1v1 arena for players. Of course, 1v1 combat is competitive, but lack of interactive. If your opponent hasn’t done some stupid or unexpected actions, you would feel like playing with the computer. So, if The Elder Scrolls: Legends has Many VS Many system, players won’t feel lonely any more in the game. And there will be more team strategies they should consider during the battle.
2. Story Mode
Like World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls also has the epic storyline. So, if there is a truly story mode in The Elder Scrolls: Legends, rare than Hearthstone’s adventure mode, PVE lovers will be likely to join in the game. By this, players can re-explore Nirn, experience world events and team up with friends to clear dungeons in card form. Each expansion of the game can tell the different story from Dawn Era to Fourth Era that will make the game live longer.
The biggest feature of The Elder Scrolls series is players can edit and revamp their unique mods. So, it would be very interesting if Bethesda brings the system to this card game. It doesn’t have to be too complex, just allows player to make unique battlefields, beautify cards and so on.
4. In-game Tournament
Nowadays, Card game has played an important role in e-Sport. But organizing a card game tournament is not that straightforward. It would be great to have in-game tournament system that pairs you with people and you advance through a bracket and might get a normal reward at the end (like in-game currency, cards, or others). It could be something like arena wherein you pay gold or a dollar as an entrance fee. In addition, there could be a section where sponsored organizers could create tourneys and players on that server could simply click and sign up for it. This is also where spectator mode could get in handy. You could click on the brackets and watch on-going matches.
5. Chat Rooms
Bring up a discussion about chat rooms and there are usually two main thoughts on them. One thought says that chat rooms are a breeding pool for vitriol, spam, and flamers, while the other gushes about the importance of social interaction while gaming and the spontaneity it can bring. Chatrooms are only as bad as the people who use them.
