Lightning No.1: Destiny
Destiny is a first-person shooter for PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360 (probably the Xbox One). Although stricktly, the game is not an MMO, it possesses many MMO features and is highly anticipated by many MMO fans, so I added it to the list. Created by Bungie, the creator of Halo, the story of Destiny sets in a Golden Age long ago when human civilization spanned the solar system. But something hit the earth and tried to stamp every single human being out. Strange and deadly foes filled the old worlds. Players play guardians of the last safe city. Their goal is to save the city, to reclaim all that they have lost. According to Joe Staten the Design Director of Bungie, the goal for Destiny was to create a world that mattered and lasted, while also being flexible and accommodating to anything the community creates like a PC MMO. "But we still haven't figured out exactly what that means in terms of a cadence," said Staten, "but given our plan to build this big world and then evolve it over time, we're absolutely going to have some cadence for that." Whether they've managed to do it, we can check it out at E3.
Besides, based on a response from the Mail Sack post on April 5th, Bungie hinted that fans shouldn't miss their reveal at this year's E3: "You’re going to have to wait for E3 to see what we have planned. All we can tell you is that it’s a show you won't want to miss."
