SLXI Replacements Abound: Na'Vi and PR Come In, Solo to Stand In for HR
With China being down on its luck and the Ukrainean embassy low on its workload, StarLadder Star Series Season XI is forced to invite the European runners-up to replace CDEC and iG. Where for the first time in over five seasons Na'Vi had reliably bombed out of the group stages, they are given another chance by their own embassy - and joining them are Power Rangers, who had also missed the tiebreaker by just a single game.
Marking the tournament as one of the most CIS-dominant in recent history, if only by chance, this is likely to be one of the last issues for the organization to face. As previously announced, StarLadder will be moving out of the Kiev Cybersport Arena - presumably for good.
In addition to that, other teams were forced to make changes in order to avoid such troubles in other tournaments. HellRaisers, the surprise big shots, who had all but secured their standing as a legitimate Tier 1 CIS team, will be missing Dulat 'goddam' Seydimomyn, who had to return to his homeland of Kazakhstan in order to make sure that he will be able to procure a Chinese visa. Standing in for him will be ex-Empire and RoX.KIS Alexei 'Solo' Berezin, a known mercenary in the scene, and a long-time companion of Andrey 'Dread' Golubev.
StarLadder Star Series XI starts January 15th, and will feature the following teams:
