Dragon Quest X Heading to Mobile as A Cloud-Based Game
Square Enix and Japanese mobile phone operator NTT Docomo announced a collaboration about bringing the full experience of upcoming MMORPG title Dragon Quest X to Docomo's game platform 'd-Game' and its tablet 'd-Tab', in addition, this collaboration project is called as Dragon Quest X: The Five Awakening Races Online.
Dragon Quest X: The Five Awakening Races Online will be started service as a cloud-based game between December and February, and this game utilizes the cloud gaming technology from Taiwanese company Ubitus.
Square Enix Senior Vice President Tomoyoshi Osaki accompanied the announcement with the following statement: By leveraging Ubitus’ distinguished technology and longest commercial experience in mobile cloud gaming, Square Enix is excited to bring our national flagship title to tablets and smartphones. We expect a dramatically wider range of fans to become accessible to the world of Dragon Quest X through the partnership with Ubitus.
Ubitus CEO Wesley Kuo added: Ubitus is thrilled to join force with Square Enix to bring their cutting edge games like Dragon Quest X to the consumers through Cloud gaming services. Users can now share the MMORPG account information between cloud gaming version and other device versions. Both new user and existing user can enjoy the world’s first multi-device play across mobile, game console, and PC. (via dualshockers)
