Beta Impression (Part 2): Playing Skillful Arena
In beta impression part 1, I have talked about the newbie guide and some basic information of Hearthstone which are very fresh for massive players. In this article, I will sum up some ideas and experience about how to apply arena mode and what can players get in arena.
Anyway no matter what you call, it actually offers a quite balanced level for players.
What is arena mode?
Arena mode is designed to test players' abilities in deck building and is available after players unlock all the classes. Unlike my speculation, the games in arena have nothing to do with players' own cards. Therefore, no pay-to-win players and it offers a relatively fair environment for players. Compared with PvP, arena should charge you $1.99 or 150 gold. Actually you can call it entrance fee. In arena mode, it will offer 3 of 9 heroes randomly for players and you have to choose one card from three cards offered by the system until you get 30 cards to build your deck. The most important element in arena is not the money you pay but the skills you play. Therefore, if you are skillful and familar with all the cards in Hearthstone, getting packs through arena is a good choice.
Each player will get a free entrance which will be charged from the next.
After your selections, game will begin. Anyone who loses three turns will be out.
You can choose a hero from three.
Also you have to choose a card from three for 30 times to build your deck.
The relatively reasonable mana carve for mage.
As you see, this is one of my battles. Quite good, isn't it?
You will get many prizes after you win a battle. Someone who wins all the 9 battles could get an ultimate prize. Above picture is my arena reward after I win three times. Gold, Arcane Dusts, and a pack, really luxuriant prizes!
Then I opened the pack and it surprised me again! A rare card and even a legendary golden card!
