Blade & Soul Supports Sony Head- Mounted Display
Lately, Blade & Soul announced that they will provide new head- mounted glass for players to experience at China Joy 2013. Today we hurried to Blade & Soul's booth, forestalling to touch the new equipment – Sony HMZ-T1 3D Personal viewer.
Sony HMZ-T1 3D Personal viewer was put on sale in February 2012. It has dual high definition OLED displays, 5.1-channel surround sound and adjustable for head size and comfort, which can give you "private movie theater playing" and "insanely immersive 2D or 3D" experiences.
Although this 3D Viewer has so many merits, we still find some shortages during the experience. First, this 3D viewer doesn't have motion control, players still need mouse and keyboard. The viewer weighs about 420g without cable, it would be too heavy to carry if players don't have comfortable chair.
The price of HMZ-T1 3D viewer is about 977 dollars in China, which is not acceptable for most of Chinese players. So the viewer would not be prevalent in China, but we still appreciate the progress Blade & Soul make. Maybe in the coming future, this kind of equipment would develop better, give us more wonderful playing experience.
HMZ-T1 3D Personal viewer was about $799, but it is not available on Sony store now. If you like Sony's 3D viewer, the newer generation, HMZ-T2 3D Personal viewer could be found in Sony UK store for £999.
